Readiness is a release decision, not a visual impression
A road may be excellent and a destination may be compelling while the full international itinerary remains unsuitable for public promotion. The missing layer is often not asphalt; it is documentation, insurance, border predictability or emergency support.
IFA treats readiness as a documented release decision. Every claim should have an owner, a source, a review date and a trigger for rechecking it.
If one critical gate is unknown, the route remains a concept — not a public travel recommendation.
Six gates every route must pass
Driver eligibility
Licence recognition, visitor status, age and rental conditions.
Authority to cross
Registration, ownership, finance, company or rental authorisation.
Predictable passage
Operating hours, documents, fees, queues and exception handling.
Insurance continuity
Territorial cover, roadside assistance and incident reporting.
Human and environmental risk
Heat, fatigue, weather, road type, traffic and emergency access.
Dependable support
Fuel, charging, connectivity, repairs, rest and accommodation.
Score evidence, not optimism
Each gate is marked confirmed, conditional, unresolved or time-sensitive. Confirmed means supported by an authoritative source or field evidence; conditional means the answer changes with nationality, vehicle or travel date.
A route can tolerate minor service gaps if they are disclosed and mitigated. It cannot tolerate ambiguity around lawful driving, vehicle entry or valid insurance.
- Record the source URL, publication date and last verification date.
- Separate traveller nationality from country of residence and licence issue.
- Test owned, rented, financed and company vehicles separately.
- Define a recheck trigger for law, border, insurance or seasonal changes.
